What is the procedure to install new XP without loosing my files if HD is not partitioned.?

When i started Windows XP it says some files are missing (eg. dll) then suddenly it will reboot. I already removed viruses in my HDisk. I dont want to reformat it coz i dont want to loose my files. What is the best thing to do? Can i re-install Windows XP SP2 again without loosing my files?

try repairing it.. instead of reinstalling

it'll present you with an option on installation

you'll see it there

if it still has that error, try finding the dll files that are missing

there are a lot of sites where you can download dll files to save to your pc

if it still doesn't work, use partition magic... you can make partitions on your hd using that software
