No there is not a efault password for win-Xp Sp2.
What you need to do in such instances is to reinstall the software which would take you through the process of setting up adminstrator user name and password again... thereby replacing the old one.

The users list that you see on the log in screen does not contain the administrator listed.

So, if you remember the administrator name and password (by any chance if they are different) that you keyed in at the time of installation, try this to show the administrator name also on the log on screen

Restart the system

Press F8

This would display a number of options.

Choose SAFE MODE from that

Go.....

Your system will display the log in page with the administrator also listed on it.

Be careful to choose upgrade and not clean reinstall

If you dont have any precious data on your system it does not matter whether you make a clean reinstall (which removes the files completely) or do an upgrade which actually overwrites the existing files by replacing only those files which are either corrupted or missing
