Windows professional xp:problem with product key?

i once had a grave deal of viruses on my pc(windows xp home edition) that whenever i put it on it went of within 5 mins...i had no anti-virus so i couldnt treat the plm...i later had somebody format my pc..the fellow then installed WINDOWS XP PROFESSIONAL SP1 on my pc....i want to upgrade it to a XP PROFESSIONAL SP2 but i dont have the product key and i cant get intouch with the one who did the formatting....for this reason i get a lot of errors that terminate my progress whenever am on the net and the only way this can stop is when i do the updating...can any1 show me how to retrieve the 'product key info' of my operating system?..i really need this so that i can go ahead with my updating...thnx

WAIT!!!! I just checked into that magic jellybean finder program, McAfee marks it as potentially unwanted software, stating it contains spyware. Use at your own risk. ;-)

Download the Keyfinder and it'll tell you the Windows product key. I'm surprised you're still using SP1; SP2 came out about 3 years ago.

You can use that file on both Home and Pro versions of XP.

While at that site poke around and you'll find out all sorts of neat things. ;)

BTW: the ONLY way to get XP Pro is to BUY it. Thank the WGA for that!
