You'll probably need to buy it.
Below is a link that will take you to the Microsoft web site. Click on the link entitled How To Get Windows XP SP2 which will open a web page describing how to get this upgrade.

http://support.microsoft.com/xpsp2getins...
you can also get sp2 from www.softwarepatch.com and click on the windows tab on the left and scroll down till you find sp2, it is about a 270mb download. this is where i got mine and i have had no problems with it

Windows XP - How do I check if I have SP2 installed?

I have bought an add-on that tells me I must have SP2 (Service Pack 2) installed.

Evidently it is a key update that should have been installed over 2 years ago automatically, but some PCs still don't have it.

How do I check if I have it or not?

What do I press?

y is this i just installed a fresh copy of xp pro

I have windows xp pro installed and am trying to install SP2 and it will not nomatter where i go it wont instawindows update

First of all, check your install CD to see if it already is SP2. If it was included on the CD then it's already installed.

Second, try going to www.windowsupdate.com. That is microsofts windows update site. It should tell you to upgrade to SP2 if you don't have it installed.

Third, if nothing else works, is your copy of windows pirated? You will not be allowed to install any updates through the internet without having a legit copy of windows.

I have windows xp pro installed and am trying to install SP2 and it will not nomatter where i go it wont instamicrosoft excel internet explorer

have you tried windows update if not make sure this is a legal copy

switch to linux(ubuntu) best idea!
Is it possible your fresh copy of XP Pro might already be an SP2 copy. You can download Belarc Advisor and check everything about your computer including which version of XP Pro you have running
have you tried the microsoft website?
U don't need Belarc to find out ur specs, just right-click the My Computer icon, click Properties, and the General tab says it all.

Can I install windows Xp in two languages?

I have downloaded Malayalam version of windows xp. Now im using English version Xp sp2, Can I install both two languages of win Xp at same time?

Can I install windows Xp in two languages?web browser

Yes but you have to install separate copies. ie. you have to install XP twice and in different partitions.

Installing in different drive partitions is critical to avoide system conflicts.

After you do this, you get selection menu (asking you to select between two XP) during booting.

But, you have to restart your computer to shift from one XP to next.

Can I install windows Xp in two languages?windows installer internet explorer

No it is not possible....
Yes and no.

You can operate Windows XP in 2 languages, but not at the same time.

What you can do it:

1. Install XP, during installation it'll ask for language settings. Select one default.

2. Install support for the other language you want.

3. Now from control panel you can go to regional settings (or something like that) and keep changing the language as and when you want.

PS: Re-installation of OS is not mandatory for multiple language support.

If i clear the cmos battery i can recover the xp pro sp2 adddminsitrator password?

if i clear the cmos battery of my pc i can recover the window xp pro sp2 adddminsitrator password

If i clear the cmos battery i can recover the xp pro sp2 adddminsitrator password?windows mobile

To recover th administrator password requires special software and either a reinstall or thrid party access through software. You can do some searching at microsoft.com and come up with their basic information. but i also know it can be done with erd commander and fairly easily

If i clear the cmos battery i can recover the xp pro sp2 adddminsitrator password?safari browser internet explorer

Removing CMOS battery will only reset the BIOS and BIOS password.

XP admin password is stored in hard drive and you need special software or OS installation discs to reset it.
that will defiently NOT do it... that is to clear a BIOS password
NO. the complementary metal Oxide battery works on the Bios and the mother board

not the hard drive

go to google and type administrator password recovery
No, clearing the CMOS battery will only clear the BIOS password. It will not effect anything on the hard disk such as software passwords including those used by the operating system.

If you can get the .SAM file off the hard disk which holds all the Windows passwords, you should be able to run L0phtCrack against the file to perform a brute force attack.

If you believe that the password is complex, i.e includes numbers and symbols, also consider downloading a set of rainbow tables to speed up the attack.
No. You will only change the setup configs.
Google this. "sourceforge rainbow tables" you'll find a way to make a live CD %26amp; do what you need
