Windows folder keeps increasing?

my windows folder is nearly 4gb in size. iam sure there are no much programs of that size.but still it shows so.what could probably be the reason.my harddrive is almost full.



iam running windows xp sp2.

1st: Open the search tool at the start menu, select all files and folders then type *.tmp



When the research is concluded, select and delete all listed files. They are useless.



2nd: %26lt;Start menu%26gt; %26lt;all programs%26gt; %26lt;acessories%26gt; %26lt;system tools%26gt; %26lt;disk cleanup%26gt; %26lt;drive c:%26gt; select all the boxes then click "ok".



You will get some free space.

1) Un-install some programs using Control Panel --%26gt; Add remove programs.



Re-install them in a different partition.



2) Delete un-necessary fonts, help files which you might not need at all.
you need to clean Internet Temporary files, and Temp folder in your C:\windows\temp
