Hello Everyone that I now is going to hate me for this, I was wondering, I have the wonderful windows xp sp2 that is so solid that it decides to crash all the time because microsoft cares so much for me, anyway, I have heard that linux based os is more stable, and a whole lot better to use. The problem is that I love gameing and just about every game you find is.....guess what, windows based. So is there an emulator or anything that you can get that will run windows games on a linux os. It would be extremely helpful thank you.

Don't count on emulators to run games....
Games are graphics extensive software which use not only complex graphic rendering techniques but also ways to speed up things using Video RAM and Graphic accelerator cards directly (or through DirectX).
So, yes, that s a fact that Microsoft cares a lot about thier customer and hence thier software crashes more often then not... But if you are a gamer, you wont be able to use Linux very sucessfully.
My suggestion would be to let the PC be for work, and get a dedicated gaming console...

Personally, if you have enough money and space, get two computers, or create a dual boot Hard drive. It will be hard to find an emulator that will run games very well. if you go with the 2 PC idea, make one linux and one xp. with the XP box, try to strip it down so that there are as few programs and processes running to make it more stable. make that box a gameing pc and the second a linux box, slackware would be good. you can also go with a dual boot HD so all you need to do is restart the pc and select which OS you want to run. as for emulators, research usually helps. let me introduce you to my friend, www.google.com
Not really and then you'd have to ask yourself why? The reason to leave Microsoft and run Linux is generally to avoid the hassles and inherit pains associated with MS products.
There is tons of software available with Linux and most of it is free or costs just a few dollars to purchase. Mozzilla, OpenOffice, Thunderbird are just a few big name items available for FREE. OpenOffice will run any MS Office file and you can create and save files in just about any format you want. Their look and feel is comparable to Office products and they are FREE!
If you want games, then create a dual boot machine for that purpose. I for one have started to convert all of my PCs to Linspire OS and no longer have updates or virus issues. I also have a more stable platform that doesn't have any issues. One item that I have noticed is that Linux is not so good with later 256 MB APG Graphics cards, but there are ways around that as well.
Also, with Linspire, for example, you get access to over 2,000 different programs on the web that you can download for free or pretty darn cheap ($5-50 for most items).
Good luck and keep the Penguin strong!!
There is an x windows interface but you will have compatibility problems due Microsoft's class protection on the programing interfaces. So, your out of luck unless the games are older than dirt.
Good news, your unstable computer os can be fixed.
First clean up your drive (disk cleanup under accessory's is a good start, and install any programs not used any more) then download regscrubxp (its freeware cnet.com/download.com has it) the auto fix works well. Then run spybot S%26amp;D (freeware www.safer-networking.org) after your done defrag your drive. It will take about 6 to 12 hours the first time you do all this.
