Why is the game Earth 2150 running jerkily under XP on a Macbook Pro?

I recently bought the Earth 2150 trilogy and installed it for Windows XP on my Macbook Pro. The games originally came out in 2000-2001, so my computer GREATLY exceeds the requirements. However, the game only ran smoothly once, immediately after it was installed. After that, it skips and jerks during gameplay, although twice when I opened the program it ran really fast.

And I'm running it on a clean install of Windows XP SP2, all updates installed, and with DirectX 9. The Macbook Pro has a Core 2 Duo 2.16 GHZ processor and a 128 VRAM Radeon X1600 graphics card with the Omega Drivers installed.

Software written before dual cores do this sometimes. It happens on many of my games from the win95/2000 era. Dual core processors do that to some older games. Check and see if SSI (I believe that's who produced Earth 2150, but I haven't played it in years) made a dual core patch. Also, disabling one core might help(I do not know if Mac's bios allows that). You can also disable the program from using both cores by doing this:

1. Press Ctrl-Alt-Del which will bring up the task manager.

2. Click on the Processes tab and scroll until you find the programs executable (eg earth2150.exe).

3. Right-click on (in this case) earth2150.exe and click on the bottom entry in the menu which says "Set Affinity...".

4. You should have 2 options there CPU 0 and CPU 1.

5. Untick one of the boxes (doesn't matter which).

6. Click OK.

maybe it's because you need a certain type of a graphics card.
Get a free macbook from this site, just by signing up and completing a few simple online tasks. It really works!
