I have been asked by a friend to check the security on his Windows XP SP2 Laptop. I have a local power user account, and I am stumped. It is a Lenovo R52 laptop, and the BIOS is password protected. The only rules is I cannot open the case of the laptop. Because there is a password on the BIOS, I cannot boot to CD, External HDD, or Flash Drive. In Windows XP, I cannot install programs. I do, however, have access to the registry. I have no idea what to do. I have been looking for a way to install linux and partition the HDD while in Windows, but I cannot find anything (Wubi did not work for some reason). I do not have an external floppy drive to use, but I do have a 2GB flash drive, and a TON of blank CDs. In have already tried copying the SAM files, and the backup of the SAM files. Any ideas? My objective is to gain access to the administrator account (by finding out the password). Oh and I can, if anyone knows how (I already tried and failed), flash the BIOS. Thanks!

can't you boot using a LCP ISO disk? or another password cracking bootable CD. please don't abuse this information, and make SURE you have very clear permission to do this.
