Windows shutting problem?

my previous windows was corrupted so i upgraded with genuine windows xp sp2 full activated over that windows. Now m facing shutdown problem.as well as hibernating and standby problem . whenever i give command to shutdown or hibernate or press key to sleep ma laptop , it always shows black blank screen with cursor in middle after "windows is shutting down" msg and doesnt boot .Everytime i need to keep pressing the power button for a long to shut it down forcely. And after reboot it never showed error scandisk. Is there any file associated with shutdown cmnd which creating this prob ? how to overcome from this prob.?I dont want to format my OS . Kindly help me users. And ya on shutting in safe mode it reboots the laptop bt showed a msg "Windows logon procedure terminated unexpectedly" in blue screen and safely restarts.

The problem can be related to many things, a registry problem, a bad upgrade SP2 upgrade, or may your hard disk have some errors, it's better if you go here and don't mess with your computer yourself.

Maybe u have regesty issues, try fixing them with CCleaner.

Do as follow:



1. First of clean your Computer with "Disk clean up" utilities. (clean all drive you have)



2. now restart your computer and reboot in to "safe mode with command prompt"



3. In to command prompt: type the command in to c: prompt (OR where your OS installed that drive).



CHKDSK C: /F (only upper F)



4. thn use any good spyware for removing bugs from your OS. like spyware S%26amp;D 1.4



I'll sure you will get improve performance of your Computer.

You didn't mention what file system you have on your hard disk is it "FAT32" or other. Anyway you can try one solution, it seems that your file system as well as registery has become corrupted.......



try this



Startmenu/All Programs/Accessories/Command Prompt



Then type "Chckdisk" it will scan and check hard drive for errors.....



It might solve this problm



Solution NO. 2



When you start windows at the startup press "F8" it will give you starting menu option, choose "Last good working" option it will start ur computer with good configration, which your pc had used last time when it was working properly.
