I can't believe I know the answer to this... but I do. This isn't a problem with wordpad. This is a problem with your email client. Your problem is probably with outlook or outlook express. Either it's not configured properly, or it's having errors. Try reconfiguring your outlook account and try again. If that doesn't work, try downloading Mozilla Thunderbird and setting that as your default mail client and checking to see if wordpad will use that instead.

You've got two chances firstly if the copy of window is valid ie not pirate, then the person who gave it to you should have the install disk or a system recover disk and should then also have the code, if they've lost this you can buy a new code from microsoft as long as you can prove that you've got original software, if you can't prove it's valid your only option is to by a new valid version

(or you could look on the internet and get a copy of Linux for free something like the Debain version when installed with the Wine software it 99% compatable with all windows software and you can fit it with a front end that means it's identical to XP from your point of view)
Unless you're absolutely sure that the code you have is authenticated you can run into some real problems. Microsoft should help solve this problem, but even if they make you buy the code, they shouldn't make you buy the whole software package again.
You must buy your own windows xp cd and register it with Microsoft. Any pirated xp will be detected and you won't be able to use the internet.If you do get on the internet,they will authenticate your xp to see if it is pirated-if so,they will not let you get security updates or windows updates.

I had the same problem with windoes Vista and i sent an email to Support@microsoft.com and they were able to tell me what changes i had to make for the downloads to work.

Umm I have no idea what the problem is with my newly built PC. The hard drive is dead now, but while it still worked, I was NOT able to install Windows XP Home with SP2, but XP Pro x64 installed PERFECTLY (despite hanging on the windows loading screen with the blue squares and then not being able to boot period)... Is this a problem with my hard drive? Help, please. Here are my specs:

you can download it from www.softwarepatch.com and click on the windows tab to the left of the page, then look down the page untill you find sp2, it is a 266mb download so on a slow connection it will take a while, this bis where i got mine from,microsoft no longer offer support unless you have sp2 installed i hear

It may be different matters.

When you open a windows explorer, hit the folder tab, then you will see a 'tree' in left side. If you dont activa that option, it will opens a new windows.

If you want to open a file but windows asked what program to open it, it means that windows not sure about the files extensions, if you know what program to open it, right click on the file then choose an appropriate program and chech 'always use this program to open those file', apply then ok.
