Display setting needs to set at every restart in window xp pro sp2?

hi, i m using xp in domain. a user in an administrator group gets the resolution of 1024x768. but a normal or domain user get 800x600.



the user must be add in admin group then and only it will get 1024x768. my system is hp d530cmt. display adapter is intel 82865.



even i had installed latest display driver but there is not solution for that.



if u have any tips or trick for the same. pls give me.

i think you have some group policy security enabled in domain computer.. you should check in domain computer group policies in

Your problem exists that the administrators has pre-determined that users will only gain the 800x600 resolution. The users are configured as a manditory configuration which means the individual user cannot change their settings and everytime they log in they had a basic required setting. If you want the larger settings, ask the administrators to change your settings in the users group settings.
This may not be an issue with group policies as group policies generally create restrictions and allowances. If you are able to change your settings after logging in then I would suggest you talk to the administrator about updating your user profiles. Mandatory profiles are generally used to update display resolutions, printer settings, power options, task bar configurations, and other areas of configuration requirements. Just keep in mind that policies are restrictions while mandatory profiles are configurations.
