Need a key for Win XP Home SP2?

Alright, I formatted my parents computer and I guess I used my XP disc too much and it said I need a new key for it to stay on, I have 25 days left so I was wondering if anybody has a key I could use? Its Windows XP Home Edition SP2. If anyone could help me out, that would be great! I'll give 10 points to someone who can give me a right key that will work!

I can tell you that you are wasting your time. Microsoft Genuine Advantage, checked four times my genuine key prior to allowing me to update Windows Internet Explorer to their near release version from their beta version.

Bill Gates does not need the money. Still a crime to steal his platforms.

The best thing you can do is go out an purchase Windows XP Home Edition SP 2 and you will have a valid key.

I've seen this before on EBay. It's an OEM version (ships with a new computer system), so it just comes in the box. Some companies (IT departments) that get alot of computer systems passing through don't really need all of these "backup" disks laying around, and if they sneak out and appear on the internet, oh well. However, on EBay, to make it legal, they shipped the sofware with a working (or nonworking) junk piece of hardware, like an old memory stick so as not to violate license. However, in this case, who knows if they've already used the cd key to activate something.

This might or might not be a scam, I would say 80% scam, 20% not-a-scam in my opinion. I found very few listings on Google and there's not really any info on the site. I'm not sure, but I'd say it's a scam. And most results say office, not the OS.
More than likely yes it is a scam. It is illegal to sell oem software w/o hardware as far as i understand.
I wouldn't go for it.

1. the advertis free shipping from over seas

2. they don't show up in BBB.org (http://search.bbb.org/)

3. usually a company that is selling software will have company email and not a personal email (and they offer no telephone number)

4. site just looks poorly constructed. If it's legit, it would surprise me.
Careful, that might just be another license. If it really is the full version, scam, if the store isn't listed on Bizrate, http://www.bizrate.com/ (in store ratings) then I wouldn't buy from them. I would also see if it is possible to look them up on the BBB, http://www.bbb.com/ if they aren't listed there then that just screams scam. If they don't have any lables from the BBB or Bizrate on their site, I won't buy from that store.

On the other hand if a store has the Bizrate seal of excellence on their site... buy from them, you won't get let down. Even better if they have both the Bizrate seal and the BBB shield... wow... don't shop anywhere else.

There's something wrong in either your CD or CD-ROM drive

It sounds like some sort of rom file was corrupted in your computer or a damaged disk drive. There shouldn't be any harm done to it now but you should talk to a local computer technician.
Ubuntu uses a different boot sector type - incompatable with windows.

Boot off DOS diskette (win95 startup disk?)

at the command prompt

c:%26gt;

type in

fdisk /mbr

go and load windows - it will work now.
insted of changing hard disk, try changing your cd-rom drive. if the same problem arises, try changing RAM. It's definetely either cd-rom or ram problem. I faced such problem %26amp; solved changing any 1 of these 2.

THANK YOU.
Since you have changed the harddisks and also tried several installation disks of different OS, the error remains. It would appear that you have a faulty or dirty CD drive. The drive is not reading the CD properly and terminte the installation process prematurely.

Try changing anther CD driver and try again.

Sometimes, pulling up the connectors at the back of the drive and at the motherboard and re-seat them may fix this kind of problem.

If you have a dirty laser head in the CD drive, one would have to open up the case and use clean water or spirit with soft cloth to clean the laser head. Do not use other cleaners

Windows XP Service Pack 2 Frequent Crashes.?

I have just reformatted my windows and installed and now it is run on win xp sp2. But my computer would crash/freeze completely all of a sudden like once every hour or so. I also have antivirus program BitDefender 2008 installed and have just ran its registry scan/cleaner. I’m now trying hard to find out the cause and to fix this. I was thinking, could the registry scan/cleaner have messed up the win xp’s registry and thus causing these crashes? Also I’ve noticed every time I shutdown/logoff windows, “spool.exe” would have trouble closing and I would always have to force it to “end now”.

Try using your xp CD to repair your current windows (it is not a reformt, you wont lose your files). As for spool.exe, some people are saying that it is part of a worm/virus but one site says it is a windows file. Try downloading a program called spybot (http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index... and download their latest scanner to see if you can find that file.

Also if your still getting errors with SP2 then I am sorry but you might have to reformt and only install SP1 (had same kind of problem with old computer) either that you you buy a new HDD because your current one might be dieing.

i think you have some group policy security enabled in domain computer.. you should check in domain computer group policies in

administration tool %26gt; policies

Display setting needs to set at every restart in window xp pro sp2?microsoft publisher internet explorer

Your problem exists that the administrators has pre-determined that users will only gain the 800x600 resolution. The users are configured as a manditory configuration which means the individual user cannot change their settings and everytime they log in they had a basic required setting. If you want the larger settings, ask the administrators to change your settings in the users group settings.
This may not be an issue with group policies as group policies generally create restrictions and allowances. If you are able to change your settings after logging in then I would suggest you talk to the administrator about updating your user profiles. Mandatory profiles are generally used to update display resolutions, printer settings, power options, task bar configurations, and other areas of configuration requirements. Just keep in mind that policies are restrictions while mandatory profiles are configurations.

Enabling PAE on Windos XP Home SP2?microsoft excel

I think you are looking in the wrong place for the answer PAE will not find the missing RAM. PAE (Physical Address Extension) is a feature provided on recent processors to allow the use of memory above 4Gb (the limit on 32bit system). As you do not exceed the standard 4Gb limit of a 32bit system PAE would be useless.
